The Chandon do Brasil domain was founded in 1973 by the prestigious Champagne House Moët & Chandon, bringing together the savoir-faire of the Champagne region and the exceptional climate found in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul.

The sparkling wine produced by the domain is exceptional and bursting with sun, reflecting the felicitous meeting between the cradle of champagne and a new El Dorado for wines and spirits. For the past five years this delectable nectar has posted double-digit growth with sales increasing over 43%, reaching 3.3 million bottles sold at a premium USD 30 price. When Moët & Chandon started to look for terroirs outside France where it could export its savoir-faire, the Champagne house quickly identified the city of Garibaldi, located in the heart of the Serra Gaucha mountains in southern Brazil. The climate and soil had all the qualities needed to produce exceptional quality sparkling wines.  Guided by oenologist Philippe Mével, the domain has pursued a never-ending quest for quality and innovation for the past 23 years. Production rigorously follows Charmat method. The domain's  wines quickly met with considerable success. Today, 40 years after its founding, Chandon do Brasil is the leader in the Brazilian market for premium sparkling wines.  

At the origin of the success was the choice of three perfectly complementary grape varieties: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, imported from France, and Riesling Italico, originally brought from Italy. These grapes are used to produce Chandon do Brasil's two cuvées, Brut and Demi-Sec. They are joined by Chandon Passion, launched in 1998 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the House, and by Excellence Brut Cuvée Prestige, assembled from only grapes that reach perfect maturity, targeting the most demanding connoisseurs of refined sparkling wines. Chandon Rosé met with an equally enthusiastic welcome, becoming a favorite among a brazilian clientele who enjoy its freshness.   

This success springs from the intrinsic qualities of these wines, which have won a special place in the hearts of Brazilians. Synonymous with fun and friends, bubbles are ever-present when the occasion calls for celebration.  Chandon do Brasil has had an especially high profile since the kick off of the World Cup, reaching out to its large community of aficionados with 360° activation campaigns.
