army with attitude at dior
MENSWEAR F-W 2012-2013: this season’s Dior Homme catwalk took a cue from the pounding drums of “Iron” by Woodkid (“I’m a soldier on my own”). Designer Kris Van Assche orchestrated a sober, monochromatic parade down the runway inspired by military dress, tailored to a tee with no excess. These uniforms exhibit the luxury and identity that define Dior.
Soldier shirts gave way to straight blouson jackets, while canvas embroidery on cargo trousers is the new twist on camouflage. The key color, khaki, comes through in different tones in each fabric. The style is in the details, while the accessories–felt caps and mirror sunglasses–finish off the military look.
