A magical Baguette
under your arm
In 1997, minimalism was all the rage in Europe. In a stroke of genius, Silvia Venturini Fendi came up with a tiny, rectangular handbag featuring the Forever buckle designed by Karl Lagerfeld the same year. In its many incarnations, the Baguette took the world by storm. Even Richard Prince, Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst have signed their own unique renditions of the Fendi classic.
For the 15th anniversary of its iconic handbag, Fendi is releasing a beautiful coffee table book in June. Published by Rizzoli, it features an introduction by Silvia Venturini Fendi, essays and poems by celebrity contributors, and life-size photos. The album is available June 15, 2012 in Fendi boutiques and bookstores that carry Rizzoli publications.
