Givenchy, spell-binding
and spiritual

In a new “Tiscian” rite at Givenchy, the runway became a punk pilgrimage. With models in high-necked, buttoned-down shirts, the look was angelically white or priestly black, rounded out with nose piercings and gladiator sandals embellished with gold chains. True to his favorite themes, Riccardo Tisci once again invites us to a spell-binding, spiritual ritual.

A haloed Virgin Mary steps straight from a medieval icon into the faded, silk screen prints, some versions seemingly eaten by acid on moiré silk. Cassocks of transparent square panels cover up jogging suits, blazers, or sleeveless tunics for a tall silhouette. A powdery pink occasionally surfaces to remind us the collection is for summer.
