International Women’s Day

LVMH is pleased to announce an innovative initiative that underlines its commitment to developing the talent and careers of women managers: the “EllesVMH Coaching Program”.


The objective is to continue to deepen our pool of high-potential women executives in order to achieve 40 percent women members on the Management Committees of Group companies by 2015. This representation has already risen from 28 percent in 2010 to 36 percent in 2012 under the impetus of initiatives led by the Human Resources management in recent years.


The pilot program will be launched by Chantal Gaemperle, LVMH Group Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Synergies. A launch event attended by several members of the Executive Committee and HR heads from Group companies is scheduled for March 19-20 in Paris.

Initially, 20 percent of the Group’s high-potential women executives will benefit from an innovative methodology as part of the program. The program addresses four priorities designed to more effectively nurture the potential for career growth among women executives: articulation of ambitious goals, promotion of individual skills, international exposure and work/life balance.


Participants will be mentored by experts in these issues to work in all four areas. The diversity of program participants reflects the Group’s demographics and international scope. Aged 30 to 45, the participants work in France, the United States, China, Italy, Germany, Belgium and Spain.

The EllesVMH structure clearly illustrates this international dimension, providing a framework for many events celebrating International Women’s Day on all continents.


To cite a few examples, in London, 50 women will take part in workshops on women’s leadership.  In Madrid, nearly 100 women managers will meet with Teresa Perales, Spain’s most medaled Paralympic champion. And in San Francisco, 50 women managers will participate in a speed networking exercise.
