A renewed success
The second edition of the Journées Particulières was a resounding success. Many visitors went behind the scenes at 42 LVMH Houses to meet hundreds of artisans who work for the Group.
The 2013 event took place under clear blue skies, with the fine weather adding to the good mood, amazement and excitement of everyone taking part. The outcome was highly positive.
This year, for the first time, large numbers of students and Group employees enjoyed a sneak preview organised especially for them on Friday 14 June. The next day the Houses opened their doors to the public, and the stream of visitors never stopped.
A number of well-known figures mingled with the crowds throughout the weekend. For example, Industry Minister Arnaud Montebourg and Minister for Crafts, Commerce and Tourism Sylvia Pinel toured Louis Vuitton's historic workshop at Asnières-sur-Seine, stewarded by Antoine Arnault, Michael Burke and Patrick-Louis Vuitton. Mr Montebourg commented: "You play a very forceful role".
The members of the public were just as positive in their comments, not only in the visitors' books available at all the sites but also on social networks, where they shared thousands of posts, tweets and pictures throughout the weekend. Several news stories also hailed the generous spirit and success of the event.
In short, the second Journées Particulières, showcasing our passion and expertise, ended on a high note. We owe that success to the 100,000 women and men – employees, artisans and creative teams – who make up the Group. Thank you all for your involvement, without which none of this would have been possible.
