At the 66th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, a marquee international event for movie lovers, the glamour was as amazing as the films presented.

LVMH Houses played a visible role with the many talents at the event, from members of the jury to directors whose films were in competition plus, of course, actresses and actors.  An impressive number of them ascended the mythic steps to the Palais des Festivals decked out in Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton or Emilio Pucci, for example.

Cinema and high jewelry are inseparable at Cannes too. Once again this year, two industries known for a blend of audacious creativity and excellence joined to bring  a special sparkle to the red carpet. Actresses Audrey Tautou, Laetitia Casta, Ludivine Sagnier and Bérénice Bejo—winner of the best actress prize—all chose Chaumet to heighten the incandescent elegance of their gala gowns.

Bulgari jewelry graced actresses Jessica Biel, Isla Fisher and Jessica Chastain. In addition, Bulgari supported restoration of the Joseph Mankiewicz film Cleopatra, which was presented in the Cannes Classics section. The House has paid a special tribute to the star of the legendary epic, Elizabeth Taylor, organizing an exhibit of some of the star’s most precious jewels, along with original costumes from the movie.

Among the pieces displayed was a Bulgari gold and turquoise mirror that the actress received as a gift during the filming of Cleopatra. Bulgari also created an exclusive jewel inspired by the star which was auctioned to benefit the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
