Radio Classique is partnering with Paris mass transit authority RATP to take travelers on an underground musical journey at the Auber RER (express rail) station in Paris on May 28.

A special free concert, starting at 12:30 pm, will take place on a temporary stage set up in the heart of the station. Radio Classique’s star presenter Christian Morin will act as master of ceremonies for the array of exceptional talent that will grace this unexpected musical interlude.

The Modigliani Quartet will be joined by cellist Xavier Philips, violist Gérard Caussé, pianist Emmanuel Strosser, and the Prélude de Paris ensemble, made up of Metro musicians. Together they will play a selection of favorite works from the classical repertoire by Mozart, Vivaldi and Beethoven.

This surprise musical treat, scheduled to last one hour, will provide a joyous backdrop to the comings and goings of travelers on RER line A, while highlighting Radio Classique’s commitment to making classical music accessible to as many people as possible in the run-up to its festival at Olympia on June 15-16.
