The Jardin d’Acclimatation amusement park in Paris is for the first time in its history hosting the Comédie-Française company at its theatre. The event, running from June 11 to 26, will blend culture and recreation in a rustic setting.
Theater is making a major comeback at the Jardin d’Acclimatation, which is hosting France’s prestigious state company, the Comédie-Française. For the high-profile return of the dramatic arts to the Bois de Boulogne, the world-famous acting troupe will be putting on “Poil de Carotte” by Jules Renard. Twelve performances of the play, directed by Philippe Lagrue, are planned.
The result of a partnership that may be extended to 2014, the collaborative effort between the most prestigious French troupe and the oldest amusement park in France is the perfect way to draw a new audience to the Jardin d’Acclimatation, with a play that still resonates strongly today.
