Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award
For the past 40 years, Veuve Clicquot has honored talented business women around the world with a special award. The Business Woman Award was created in tribute to Madame Clicquot Ponsardin, recognizing the leadership, audacity and creativity of pioneering entrepreneurs. The award now recognizes women the world over, reflecting the global reach of the Champagne house, which exports 90 percent of its production.
At a ceremony on March 8 in Australia, the award was presented to Maryanne Shearer, CEO of tea retailer T2. On April 18, the UK Business Woman of the Year Award went to fashion designer Anya Hindmarch for her “I’m not a plastic bag” campaign. The French winner will be announced in June. In keeping with tradition, winners have a vine in the Veuve Clicquot vineyard baptized in their name.
On October 2 and 3, Veuve Clicquot will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the awards at a “Women of Inspiration” forum in Reims. Past winners will share their experience during the event and attend a gala diner in their honor.
