The Espace Culturel Louis Vuitton is hosting the "Chile, behind the scenes" exhibition until May 9, broughting together 12 Chilean contemporary artists who are often exhibited in their own country but rarely shown in other countries, expressing a sensibility marked in particular by the political history of Chile.

In two videos, Nicolás Rupcich assails the absurdity of some landscaping projects, both disproportioned and oversized. The first shows the world’s largest swimming pool, located on Chile’s coast. The second follows the erection of a palm tree in the middle of an eight-lane highway.

Camilo Yánez sees art as a means of staging the collective memory. Shot on the 36th anniversary of the Chilean military coup d’état, his video shows the Santiago National Stadium, the largest detainment camp under the dictatorship. Languorous traveling shots reveal the one-time grandeur of the now abandoned site.
