Voyage to North Pole for Zenith6/8/10
- Watches & jewelry
In April 2010, Manufacture Zenith accompanied explorer Jean-Louis Etienne for the first solo balloon flight over the North Pole. The goal of the voyage was to contribute to studies of global warming by measuring carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere, as well as the Earth’s magnetic field.
On his wrist, the explorer wore the No. 1 in the series of the Zenith El Primero Striking 10th chronograph. With a precision that remains unequalled to this day, the El Primero caliber is the first mechanical movement to beat 10 times per second.
