For Fall/Winter 2011 RTW, Phoebe Philo has designed an uncompromising collection, balancing rigor and sensitivity. The secret to the Céline collection’s resolutely contemporary performance lies in the inventive touch of its Creative Director— simple cuts and balanced compositions. Her innovative desires are distinguished in materials that are worked in relief or graphic patchwork, like a Piet Mondrian.
Seamless coats, tapered pants & slightly trapeze dresses with a very refined cut, are all adorned with irregularly-shaped checkered patterns, in various materials (silk, leather, felt) & colors. The tree bark print, inscribed all over the t-shirts & skirts, tones with the Fall shades, while geometric patterned sweaters bring a Seventies touch to this Céline collection.
