HAUTE COUTURE S-S 2012 : at Givenchy, Haute Couture is stunningly modern. For his futuristic runway show, Riccardo Tisci invented a sober universe, part damsel, part femme fatale. Art deco meets the expressionism of Metropolis for an edgy look that flirts with the natural and supernatural, the organic and the fantastic.

Flowing, delicate sheaths reminiscent of the twenties or thirties feature bold details such as lance-shaped rhinestones or reptilian sequins. On the gowns, ultra fine glass beads recreate the scintillating sensuality of animal skin. The Givenchy accessory of the season is a nose ring, Tisci’s nod to punk.
