Marc Jacobs’ show was a lineup of baroque silhouettes, with models wearing outsized hats, set against a striking fairytale-like backdrop designed by American artist Rachel Feinstein. The collection was an eclectic mix of inspirations and styles and a clever combination of textures and luxe fabrics. A pure flight of fancy, breaking the runway codes.

Stand-out pieces included frock coats, full skirts and shirts buttoned up to the neck in bright colors, brocade scarves and black Pilgrim-style shoes with enormous rhinestone buckles. There was also plenty of sparkle, with Lurex, tinsel tweed and iridescent sequined fur in the mix. Long black asymmetric dresses with patchwork detailing closed the show.
