This season saw Chief Designer Donna Karan revisit Marlene Dietrich’s famous androgynous look. She sent out slim-fitting asymmetrical dresses and miniature fedoras worn skewed to one side, creating daring retro silhouettes. The collection featured man-meets-woman tailoring with an elegant, sexy undertone.

The strong-shouldered pieces accentuated the oversized silhouettes. Collars worn as necklaces set against bare skin added a sensual touch. The pinstripes on suits turned up on dresses and double-breasted jackets from another era. And the maxiskirts worn with deep-plunging shirts hinted at menswear looks. The collection’s accessories included large plaid shawls.
