The Emilio Pucci show was back to black, with a sheen of metallic radiance. Pucci’s Creative Director Peter Dundas was inspired by dark, fierce-countenanced beauties with a decidedly 80’s look. Slashed cocktail dresses in sheer silk created a very graphic look, set off by pumps adorned with large buckles or patent leather thigh boots, giving the Pucci woman a distinctively sensual sophistication.
Glamour was very much center stage with crocodile and silk dresses slit to mid thigh, translucent silk-mousseline tops, tulle patchwork effects and sheath dresses with teasing openwork embroidery. Sleek lamé tuxedos and patent leather trench coats added a sober masculine feel. Touches of color in beige and blue and emblematic Pucci psychedelic prints punctuated the striking collection.
