Espace Culturel Louis Vuitton will host the "Autobiographies" exhibition until May 20, 2012. The autobiographical genre reappeared at the end of the 1970s after falling out of favor in the 1960s, then dominated the contemporary art scene in the early 1980s.

In the exhibition, twelve artists from different backgrounds, cultures and generations give us their personal vision of the genre. They felt the need to embark on a retrospective journey in order to gain a better grasp of the future. The artists chose a range of disciplines–drawing, photography, literature and film–to convey the defining moments in their lives.

"Autobiographies" March 23 to May 20, 2012 Espace Culturel Louis Vuitton, 60 rue de Bassano, 75008 Paris – France Open Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 7pm, Sunday from 11am to 7pm Website: www.louisvuitton.com/espaceculturel
