Spring/Summer 2010 Haute Couture. In the Dior salons on Avenue Montaigne, John Galliano featured striking equestrians with a very British, very chic look. In a tribute to American couturier Charley James, who inspired the New Look, strictly cut riding jackets accented the waist, while skirts were pleated on one hip and draped on the other for an asymmetrical posture.

They were followed by spectacular evening gowns with tender lace and pastels, blended with exquisitely worked embroidery. The atmosphere was that of an extravagant ball for a dramatic allure created by hyperbolic volumes and ethereal superpositions of tulle and organza. Self-assured femininity boldly combined colors with elegant audacity.
