Fendi in Milan…Dior, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Berluti in Paris. LVMH designers unveiled their Fall/Winter 2013-2014 menswear collections during the January fashion weeks. Themes ranged from exoticism and travel, to the history of classicism. Touches of leather, fur and gray were omnipresent, all with infallible chic!
At Louis Vuitton, Kim Jones put the spotlight on the mountains of Bhutan with a collection inspired by his travels in the Southeast Asian nation. By day, men don parkas, ponchos and duffle coats with XXL hoods. In the evening, they slip into Asia-inspired kimono shaped jackets, worn with bow ties.
Fendi headed for Island and a layered look for men to ward off the cold: three-piece suits covered with capes, parkas, jackets or oversized coats. The materials were artfully blended, such as knits with leather. Ubiquitous fur warmed up boots, bags and coat linings.
Alessandro Sartori presented his vision of the Berluti man, including this season’s must-have from the house, three-piece tailored suit. Amazing materials and exquisite cuts give the Berluti man a chic style that has become instantly recognizable.
For Dior Homme, Kris Van Assche sent out a collection that was equal parts sportswear and refined tailored spirit. The somber palette of gray, black and deep prune was awakened with a dash of immaculate white for a tightly belted two-tone trench coat.
Sober style reigned at Givenchy as well. Riccardo Tisci played off matt and glossy grays to create clean and elegant looks.
