n the spirit of Marc Jacobs, who has constantly reinvented the House icons with flair and genius, Louis Vuitton has invited nine exceptional creative talents—artists, architects and designers—to celebrate nine iconic bags in an exhibition that will run from September 15 to December 31, 2006 at the "Espace Louis Vuitton".
Shigeru Ban, Sylvie Fleury, Zaha Hadid, Bruno Peinado, Andrée Putman, Ugo Rondinone, James Turrell, Tim White-Sobieski and Robert Wilson are the nine talents approached by Louis Vuitton to participate in this adventure.
They were given imaginative free rein with one of the company’s iconic bags, which visitors to the exhibition rediscover in a setting that reflects the creative universe of each.
The "Espace Louis Vuitton" was inaugurated in January 2006. This third exhibition underlines the strong ties that have always linked Louis Vuitton with the world of art.
