o celebrate its 150th anniversary, TAG Heuer has introduced the Monaco V4 watch, combining a revolutionary movement with avant-garde design.
Originally shown as a concept watch at the 2004 Baselworld Watch and Jewelry Show, the Monaco V4 is now being released in a prestigious limited edition of 150 units, made of platinum 950.
The development of the Monaco V4 was a compelling adventure, bringing together engineers, mathematicians, master watchmakers and Swiss artisans, and spawning two major innovations.
First, a modular synchronous micro drive belt system. More efficient and easier to maintain than traditional mechanical movements, it ensures ultra-dependable energy transmission.

Secondly, a brand-new linear mass concept, in which the mass is mounted on the smallest ball bearings ever made.
While the basic design of the watch is brand new, its look is inspired by the legendary Monaco worn by Steve McQueen in the classic car racing film, "Le Mans".
Like this mythic model, the Monaco V4 features an audacious square case and pays tribute to the world of auto racing and a shared passion for performance.
The Monaco V4's beveled and arched sapphire crystal, designed in 3D, curves over the sides of the platinum case. A stylish large-scale alligator strap sets off the singular case.
Named "Watch Design of the Year" at the prestigious Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève 2009, the Monaco V4 confirms TAG Heuer's pioneer status and reaffirms the company's core values: audacity, performance and innovation.
