veryone who has visited the Jardin d’Acclimatation in Paris has dreamed of taking home a little souvenir of this marvelous park. Now it’s possible with the opening of a gift shop (with an entrance at Les Sablons). The adorable green and white kiosk proposes an array of items linked to the wonderful world of Paris’ first amusement park, which will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2010.

The tent-shaped 50-square-meter boutique is the work of merchandising and concept store designers Stéphane Sengier and Julien Cristofoli.

The style reflects the natural, cozy feel of the Jardin, with oiled solid oak flooring, ceruse wood bookcases—including an elegant ladder to reach the upper shelves—plus green and white striped shutters and a grey-beige tone décor. Visitors are immersed into a country home atmosphere right in Paris.

The boutique offers some 130 gift ideas: balls, teddy bears, rocking horse, wooden skittles, an authentic croquet set, calendars illustrated by Hippolyte Romain (Artistic Director of the Jardin d’Acclimatation), mugs, educational books and more. For gourmets there is a choice of Chinese teapots, plus a selection of traditional sweets, hard candies and nougat, all enticingly displayed in big glass jars…just as they used to be !
