After four years of successful collaboration with Narciso Rodriguez, Loewe announces the signing of José Enrique Oña Selfa as its new womenswear creative Director. The agreement has been signed for three years in the spirit of establishing a long and productive collaboration.

Of Spanish origin, José Enrique Oña Selfa was born in Belgium in 1975. He studied Design at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de la Cambre in Brussels, where he received the highest distinction and recognition of the jury.

After working closely with designers like Olivier Theyskens, Oña Selfa decided to create his own company in February of 2000, "JE Oña Selfa", where he took charge of the artistic direction as well as designing. His collections are distributed in leading stores such as Maria Luisa in Paris, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, among others.

According to Oña Selfa: "I feel very honoured to join the Loewe team. It is an opportunity which will allow me to pay tribute to a luxury house with a long and an important history and tradition. I hope to be able to fulfil my responsibilities and be worthy of the extraordinary level which Loewe represents in my eyes: a brand embodying the epitome of quality, luxury and perfection".

Chairman of the LVMH Group, Mr. Bernard Arnault stated: "We are always looking for the best new young talents and José Enrique is certainly one of them, but most importantly his vision is pure Loewe".

Ridgely Cinquegrana, President and CEO of Loewe, feels: "José Enrique has a highly versatile style which will allow him to combine the technique and discipline of the designers of Northern Europe, with the passion and sensuality of the South, in a harmonious balance which fits Loewe's goals to perfection."

"José Enrique is an extremely talented and innovative designer. His imaginative designs will add energy to the House of Loewe", said Ron Frasch, Chairman and CEO, Bergdorf Goodman.

In turn, Joan Kaner, Fashion Director of Neiman Marcus, commented: "I feel that José Enrique is one of the rising stars in the design world."

Narciso Rodriguez affirmed: "Loewe is a great brand and the opportunity that I was given to work at this level of quality and craftsmanship has an incredible value for me. It has been a pleasure to see Loewe grow and to be part of this growth."

Loewe, founded in Madrid in 1846, now forms a part of the LVMH group. It is present in the most prominent luxury markets in the world with more than 100 owned and operated boutiques and it is currently a leader in luxury leather, fashion products and prestige fragrances.
