Fragrance is another way to express KENZO’s brand values: nature redesigned, blend of East and West, juxtaposing of opposites.
In 1988, KENZO enters the world of perfumes and reinterprets classic codes. The instant success of the first creation, KENZO ça sent beau, is followed by Kenzo Homme, Kenzo Parfum d'Eté, l'Eau par Kenzo, distinctive fragrances with innovative scents and poetic, colourful advertising campaigns.
Appointed creative director for KENZO Parfums in 2000, the writer, photographer and film director Patrick Guedj created Flower By Kenzo, a floral-powdery fragrance that soon became a great classic and continues to enjoy worldwide success to this day.
True to its Asian origin, the brand’s attention to detail is a key feature in the creation of bottles imagined by designers like Ron Arad (Madly KENZO), Karim Rashid (Kenzo Amour), Serge Mansau (Flower By Kenzo) or Fabien Baron (L’Eau par Kenzo). With KENZO, fragrance bottles are conceived as real designer objects expressing an ultimate refinement.
In 2001, KENZO Parfums launches the skincare line KENZOKI. A range of innovative products that pair performance with pleasure, offer delightful textures, original directions for use and a rich, imaginative descriptive language.
General Manager for Kenzo Parfums since 2010, Patricia Tranvouëz reconnects with the joyful spirit of the brand founder, Kenzo Takada, and launches two daring projects the following year: Flower TAG inspired by the urban art of graffiti and Madly KENZO, celebrating the KENZO brand values.
Since 2011, KENZO Parfums has reinforced its bond with the world of art by supporting the Yayoi Kusama retrospective at the Centre Georges Pompidou and the publication of the book titled « Night Birds », a tribute to the art of tagging, containing night shots by art director Patrick Guedj, tagged by British graffiti artist Kid Acné.
