We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Financial Analyst Intern to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in financial analysis within an APAC regional context. The successful candidate will support our financial planning and analysis initiatives, contribute to data-driven decision-making, and enhance financial visibility across various departments.

Job responsibilities

Data Consolidation & Visualization: Consolidate historical and current expense data from diverse APAC markets. Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards to provide function heads with real-time spending insights.

Analytical Business Partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. Assist the regional manager in preparing ad-hoc financial commentary, addressing budget inquiries, and facilitating data-driven business decisions.

Performance Review & Forecasting Support: Support monthly performance reviews and forecasting cycles by extracting, cleaning, and ensuring the accuracy of raw financial data submissions from local market teams.

Reporting & Trend Analysis: Contribute to the preparation of standardized monthly regional management presentations, track key financial metrics, and identify significant spending trends.

 

Requirements:

  • Eligible to work in Hong Kong.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing data models, creating interactive visualizations, and writing baseline formulas within Power BI.
  • Proficiency in Excel for data transformation, data hygiene, and handling large datasets using advanced functions (e.g., XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables).
  • Strong understanding of P&L structures, including Operational Expenses (OPEX), cost center allocations, and variance analysis principles.
  • Prior internship experience in corporate finance, accounting, data analytics, or business intelligence is highly preferred. Comfort with real-world, non-standardized datasets is essential.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Business Intelligence, or a related quantitative discipline (e.g., from local Hong Kong universities with analytics-integrated curricula).
  • Business Partnering Acumen - Possess a strong commercial mindset, the ability to interpret data beyond surface-level numbers, and effectively communicate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and cultural agility.
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
