INSIDE LVMH in China invites students from 20 prestigious Chinese universities to imagine tomorrow’s customer experience



After the success of the program in Europe in 2018, INSIDE LVMH was launched in China last March via a WeChat campaign. On this occasion, 210 students from 20 of China’s most prestigious universities were invited to imagine the customer experience of tomorrow. The three-day agenda from April 1-3 included tours of LVMH Maisons’ stores and culminated with a “Discovery Day” on April 12 in Shanghai. Following the closing ceremony, 120 students were invited to choose from among the 100 internships proposed by LVMH Maisons present in China.

To create a bridge between the academic world of young talents and the world of business, in 2018 LVMH launched INSIDE LVMH, an online program that enables students at partner schools and interns at LVMH Maisons to deepen their understanding of the myriad professions and career opportunities in the luxury industry. Following the resounding success of the program in Europe last year, the Group brought the initiative to China this year.


The digital campaign kicked off on March 4 with a special WeChat mini-program, triggering a record 9,500 registrations. From the 1,500 students who shared their vision of the customer experience of tomorrow on the platform, 210 were invited on store tours at LVMH Maisons in Beijing and Shanghai, including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chaumet and Sephora.


After the “Store Tour”, 120 of the students were selected for “Discovery Day”, the INSIDE LVMH closing event in Shanghai. During the day they were coached by LVMH senior managers and Human Resources talents as they imagined an in-store customer experience crafted to attract customers and inspire loyalty.


A panel discussion with Andrew Wu, LVMH Group President Greater China was followed by speed interviews with HR teams from the Maisons, giving the participants a chance to select one of the 100 internships available in the country.

The launch of the INSIDE LVMH program in China has enabled the Group and its Maisons to heighten their recognition among Chinese millennial talents and forge closer ties with 20 of China’s most prestigious universities, including Fudan University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Donghua University, Tongji University, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Communication University of China and Remin University.
