Position

The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for protecting the store and company assets. The APA also enforces policy, procedures and standards set by the store, department and company. The APA also records incidents for reviewing and investigations. The APA is responsible for the safety of store and employees from external and internal threats.


Profile

Asset Protection

Inform store management and staff of potential losses
Ensure that standards and procedures are followed to control internal and external loss
Maintain a perpetual awareness through CCTV monitoring and floor sweeps 
Filter new information and procedures to lower stores shrink 
Constantly relay all information provided by Department head and supervisor to store personnel
Constant monitoring of internal controls and documenting incidents
Logging of packaging outbound and inbound 
Enforcement of compliances and company procedures
Auditing registers, shipments and inventory for losses and paperwork errors
Protection of employees and maintaining awareness of safety issues
Apprehension of shoplifters and removal of potentially disruptive people from premises
Court appearances on behalf of store and company in regards to past apprehensions
Merchandise recovery
Presence for safety and deterring of potential threats to business and inventory
Escorting and guarding of people and premise during events and other functions


Training

Familiarizing new employees through orientations to create awareness and advise them of procedures and policy
Conducting monthly and quarterly training workshops with associates


Reporting

Provide weekly quantitative and qualitative reports on: losses, recoveries, and violations of policy and procedures to department manager, supervisors and store management

 


Additional information

Skills

8 and 16 hour State Security guard training courses. State ID card or Certificate of completion
Working knowledge of Security/Asset Protection affiliated equipment (C.C.T.V. / Alarm systems)
1-2 Years retail or Security experience
