The Associate Buyer is responsible for supporting the Buyer of reference in developing store assortments, generating product orders and providing operational support with a focus on individual store needs while supporting top line sales.



  • Supports operatively Buyers in the seasonal store buying for each store, in accordance with the Merchandising guidelines and with the support of the Retail Planning function
  • Manage sizing for buying by organizing grids to involve doors, preparing history analysis by class/store/art/sku and communicating with stores to capture any missed opportunities.
  • Manage consolidations by proposing and moving inventory for the product categories, liaising with Sr Planner
  • Directly communicate with stores to manage store transfer requests
  • Create Seasonal Merchandising reports with product feedback and development ideas to support the Buyer
  • Travel to Italy minimum four times a year

Product Training:

  • Participate in Seasonal Training Sessions to present the content of the Collection to the Area Managers, Visual Merchandisers and Store Managers, with regards to the pertinent product categories and providing them all the technical and functional information

Market and Product Analysis:

  • Travel to key markets to visit stores to perform analysis on the market distinctiveness in terms of trend, competitor positioning and customer characteristics
  • Weekly monitoring of the sales trend, to ensure each store has a proper product assortment to maximize the sales performance while optimizing/boosting the sell through
  • Collaborates with Management and Visual Merchandising Team on stock needs, merchandise presentation and best sellers

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Passion and high sensitivity for luxury goods environment and the Loro Piana Brand
  • Excellent analytical ability and data analysis
  • Aligned to the Brand identity, detail oriented, with strong communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office Programs in addition to SAP 

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree
