Position

MAIN OBJECTIVE

The Associate Director, Planning will be responsible for fresh's products production planning from procurement of components to manufacturing of all products at our subcontractors.  Based in the Jersey City, NJ office and reporting to the Vice President, Supply Chain, the Associate Director will be an effective communicator with cross functional partners with the ability to make timely decisions. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and develop the planning team by coaching and training to continuously improve the technical and managerial skills of the team members
  • Ensure execution of daily processes with attention to detail, including purchasing inventory, troubleshooting problem items, and tracking orders to 100% "OTIF" (on time in full)
  • Liaise with key partners in distribution and forecasting to determine the product and service needs
  • Monitor business trends and product availability to continuously improve service level, reduce the air shipping ratio, optimize the component stock level and avoid obsolescence
  • Nurture relationships with suppliers to improve communication and build strong processes, maintain supplier relationships and communication by initiating weekly calls
  • Partner with the purchasing team to improve collaboration and improve the overall service level of the suppliers
  • Recognize issues, troubleshoot and respond; systematically gather information, sort through complex issues, identify root cause of issues, make timely decisions, and communicate decisions to others
  • Assess, develop and implement strategies for procuring and maintaining stock levels
  • Oversee overall procurement purchase, build the budget and monitor monthly and yearly purchase
  • Detect opportunities of improvement and lead continuous improvement projects; implement strong and standardized processes within the team and with our vendors
  • Manage the end of life process
  • Update planning scorecard, set up targets, lead actions

Profile

  • Master's Degree in related field, with 10 years' experience in planning and management
  • In-depth experience with MRP, production planning, BOM management, inventory target setting, supply allocation
  • Excellent communication (written & oral), interpersonal and presentation skills, and strong analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong team player capable of building relationships at all levels within the internal organization and external partners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Hardworking, ability to work under pressure, quick decision maker
  • Experience designing/redesigning supply chain processes and programs to build capacity and/or increase efficiency
  • Experience on AX or another ERP
