Mission Statement:

The Brand Manager is responsible for the Marketing of the Single Malt Whisky brands in Germany, develops, and executes local brand strategies and concepts in line with the global brand strategy and is in charge for steering and developing the brands to achieve the targeted sales and profits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales and profit contribution on Glenmorangie and Ardbeg
  • Develop and implement budget (1 year) and a mid-term (3 year) brand strategy in line with company and Maisons' agreement
  • Be responsible for the creative development, execution, analysis and reporting of communication initiatives to drive brand saliency and consumer engagement in line with Maison guidelines
  • Be accountable for the development, implementation and control of brand activations along the consumer journey (On-, Off-Trade, CPS, E-retail, E-Commerce) in accordance with respective brand strategies
  • Cooperate with the Communication Department, the Digital Manager and Marketing Services to optimize the value chain of the brands (products and POSM) from production to consumer
  • Adapt international and develop local communication platforms in accordance with Maison guidelines
  • Act as "face of the brand" for both brands in Germany, representing the brand towards customers, consumers, the press and colleagues. Train customers and colleagues on the products and hosts important events and tastings
  • Keep close contact and collaborate with multipliers and opinion leaders for Malt Whisky
    Key point of contact for Maisons, sales department and back-office for all aspects concerning the brands
  • Provide clear trade and consumer insights (consumer needs, segmentation and value proposition)
  • Ensure optimal allocation of expenditure, manage and control A+P budget in compliance with all stakeholders       



  • Business Administration or related with an emphasis on Marketing


  • Fluent German & English skills required, French and other languages are a plus

Professional experience & know how:

  • Minimum of 4 years of Marketing / Sales experience in major Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company with at least 2 years' experience as a Brand Manager with full brand responsibility
  • Understanding of German Off-Trade and On-Trade
  • Understanding of the brown spirits category, focus whisky, with knowledge of the relevant gatekeepers
  • Experience with spirits including a minimum of 2 years in the spirits industry
