MISSION STATEMENT

The Commercial Intelligence Manager has an important role within the BI team; in providing insights through information and research services as well as interfacing with supplier resources and internal business stakeholders. The position works across all facets of the MHUSA business, and is responsible to develop and implement best in class reporting that drives insights for unlocking growth commercially. The role brings both strategic and tactical elements to life for the BI team, and is grounded with a fundamental need for intellectual curiosity within major MHUSA business question areas.



MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

This position will have a key role as a functional expert for the business intelligence community as regards MHUSA intellectual property. Mastery of reporting for the business will be essential; as well as interpreting the reporting to create insights that can be applied commercially to unlock potential growth and create incremental value and volume. In addition to being a point person for both strategic and periodic reporting; building relationships designed to create a smooth flow of communication, optimized for understanding will be critical. This position will also maintain responsibility for administration of contracts and budgets for the BI team and will have a specific need to be highly organized and time aligned.


Key Outputs/Deliverables:


Reporting / Insights Presentation Creation 60%

Managing the MHUSA syndicated and proprietary reporting for the BI team as required by the business for executive and marketing functions. Creation and consulting on these same resources commercially will also be an important evolution. Resources to master will include IRI / Nielsen (all deliverables) as well as NABCA, Adams, Shanken, Technomic, Market Track and other consumer / shopper tools as made available.

Presenting / Personal Interaction 20%

The interpersonal role will be critical and will involve understanding / scoping of business questions with constituents and suppliers.
With business questions understood, communicating back to the requestor in order to maximize value of the material is important. While supplying reporting is a solid initial step, creation and communication of insights and answering "why" the insights are meaningful to the business is absolutely essential.

Training 15%

Having a solid working knowledge and application of the tools and services is vital, and being able to train and teach others to use these resources themselves will help elevate the team and the organization. Coordination and implementation of specific tool training and evaluation of other team member's capabilities will be essential. Teaching others across the organization in both an ad-hoc and organized group activity method, will be a solid solution in expanding the role of this position, and moving it to a more strategic platform.

Administration and Budgeting 5%

Organization and time alignment of budgets and contracts will be important in this area. This will include gaining a working knowledge of the accounting systems as well as having communication with legal / procurement functions as needed.


Profile

Education: Undergraduate Degree

Languages: English

Experience: College graduate with 3-5 years relevant experience that should include:
>  Insights development experience with leading organization and / or customer.
>  Strong technical experience with software skills relevant to (Syndicated IRI / Nielsen, Spectra, Panel Data, Sales Tracking/BDN).
>  Previous data to information experience preferred.
>  Sales experience with major CPG or beverage category a plus.
>  Strong presentation and communication skills.
>  Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
>  Self starter and independent thinker.
>  Strong sense of intellectual curiosity for business questions.
