Position

A newly created position under the Global Growth Marketing division, the Director, Global Marketing will support the Vice President, Global Marketing and the Senior Director, Global Growth Marketing, to drive overall growth in existing and new categories by defining and implementing strategic long-term objectives and creating the three- five-year product plan, in line with the global brand objectives. The Director, Global Marketing will develop and execute the product innovation road map for two new categories under fresh portfolio leveraging external (competitive data/market trend insights) and internal (brand positioning/performance/growth opportunities) factors to provide thoughtful recommendations for go-to-market strategy.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Growth Marketing, the Director will partner with cross-functional support teams and regional affiliates, to lead development milestones and deliver product and programs on time and on budget.


Profile

Strategy/Business Development

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director to:
    • develop the three- five-year product calendar for all categories to drive impactful global growth and ensure retail and net sales objectives are met
    • drive brand geography volume assumptions by franchise/market and alignment with fresh strategy in partnership with regions and forecasting group
    • create a three-year product road map for 2 new categories under fresh portfolio, that can be tailored across regions and various distribution channels
    • drive pricing recommendations
  • Drive partnership with cross-functional (Product Development, Packaging, Creative, Merchandising, Education, Purchasing, Digital, Campaign and Communication) and regional affiliates in the development and implementation of cohesive global strategies
  • Lead development milestones to deliver product and programs on time and on budget
  • Ensure COGS targets are met for new launches
  • Align the preparation and delivery of feasibility forecast offerings and bulletins detailing new programs introductions and execution
  • Annually co-host and help prepare presentations for round table meetings, product exchange and worldwide meetings

360 Product Marketing

  • Define the product strategy and launch cadence for 2 new categories under fresh portfolio that focus on the achievement of retail and net sales, ultimately delivering profit goals
  • Identify gaps and suggest new product innovation based on analytics, regional trend insights, and category opportunities while leveraging creativity and beauty intuition
  • Understanding of product positioning in relation to fresh price mapping and leading competition by segment and franchise to ultimately recommend a pricing strategy
  • Lead accurate and timely issuance of marketing briefs for new products, sampling, add/delete
  • Collaborate with the product development team on the development of programs
  • Active contributor for Go to Market process for new launches and creative problem solver for COGs (formula, package, SRP)
  • Drive an omni approach to Integrate campaign and product to create a true 360 marketing go-to-market strategy, by partnering with Campaign Operations, Digital, PR/Social, Merchandising, as well as markets; during the ideation stage for global synergy
  • Craft powerful product storytelling and positioning in partnership with product development & storytelling

Competitive Intelligence

  • Keep a pulse on global competitive activity, trends and new technologies leveraging NPD, Beaute reports
  • Analyze key market and competitive data to maintain a qualitative and quantitative edge on market trends, serving as an authority for the respective categories
  • Attend key industry events and conferences and share learnings with the broader team

Cross Functional Partnerships

  • Attend and lead regular weekly developmental milestones meetings with POD, Packaging, Product Development and Storytelling partners
  • Support prep for strategic meetings such as FTM, PPG, Marketing Forecasting, etc
  • Along with Sr. Director, lead strategic alignment with market partners on product, campaign strategy and development via regular calls/meetings like product exchange
  • Support key brand meetings in partnership with cross-functional teams including Board of Directors, Retailer meetings, Strategy, Budget, Worldwide meeting, etc.

Team Management

  • Mentor and motivate 1-2 direct reports
  • Drive team roles and responsibilities through inspirational leadership, development and empowerment

Additional information

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing and/or related field; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in the beauty industry, specifically in color and skincare marketing/development
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking skills, ability to structure presentations
  • An energetic, passionate and creative thinker with a curiosity for all things beauty
  • Strong digital mindset when approaching new projects
