Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant is responsible for the preparation and analysis of the monthly financial reports, including management data, analysis, creation of financial statements and ensuring the regulatory compliance of accounting practices.

Based in Melbourne, you will be responsible for:

  • Month-end preparation and reporting
  • Internal reporting and day-to-day tasks
  • Budgeting
  • ATO, ASIC and State Revenue compliance
  • Assisting the Finance Manager and the Finance & Operations Manager in preparing ad-hoc financial presentations and projects.

We are looking for someone with an Accounting degree and preferably CA/CPA qualified with some years of experience (4-5 years). In depth technical knowledge of (and ability to source) Australian Accounting Standards, Corporations Act regulations and Tax legislation. It would be an advantage to have prior experience in wholesale and retail industry.

You are a confident communicator with exceptional presentation and organizational skills, excellent problem solving and analytical skills and are able to take ownership of the tasks. You have a track record of commitment to and successful delivery of high-quality outputs within strict deadlines.

The successful candidate will be self-starter, agile, adaptable, experienced in high pressure environments, and possess strong relationship skills. Business acumen is essential. Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
