We are excited to announce the opening of Sephora Hong Kong in Q3 2019.
This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial and experienced General Manager to pioneer the opening of Sephora's entry into Hong Kong. You will be the face of Sephora Hong Kong (First market out of China and SEA) to achieve an Omni vision across all channels by building your own organisation through opening of Hong Kong, driving business expansion, growth strategies on Brick & Mortar stores and e-commerce.
The mission of the General Manager is to create and lead strategic business initiatives for Sephora Hong Kong. You have solid experience in managing a P&L and understand the business and people levers to deliver profitability. Under your leadership, you will create an environment where you will empower your teams to strive for innovation, and enliven a disruptive and entrepreneurial spirit. This role reports to the Sephora Asia President.
1. OPTIMIZE SALES AND PROFIT AND ENSURE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION
> Defines the sales strategy and pricing policy adapted to the local environment
> Increases market share through identifying and securing suitable sites, lease and rental negotiation
> Sets and monitors the performance of the country against standards and targets
> Leads local negotiations with key suppliers and monitors the margin
> Anticipates and manages peak sales periods
> Full responsibility over the country's profit and loss. For Example - Budget awareness, Country expenses
> Drives the Key Performance Indicators. Assess Conversion Rate, Average Basket and Unit Per Basket.
> Sets and drives plan to improve margins
2. MONITOR SALES PERFORMANCE
> Prepares budgets, implements business strategies and objectives in line with the regional headquarters directions
> Sets and monitors the performance of the country against targets in areas such as profitability, sales turnover, product offer, legal compliance and human resources management and development
> Monitors the country's competitive environment to identify business threats and opportunities and develop business plans to address them.
3. TEAM MANAGEMENT
> Responsible for overseeing operations and management of support functions jointly with regional function heads including category management, technology, marketing, supply chain, finance, HR and training, and IT
> Sets, follows-up and achieves ambitious individual qualitative and quantitative objectives
> Motivates the team and promotes strong team spirit
> Develops employee competencies and identifies the key contributors leading to internal promotions and succession planning
> Maintains a good social climate and conducive work environment
> Monitors the training plan including the integration process for new-joiners
> Minimum of 8 years in a GM or equivalent P&L role. Ideally in Omni Channel (Online/Brick & Mortar) multi brands environments.
> Degree in Business studies or related field preferred.
> Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders
> Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
> Excellent Communication Skills (Verbal and Written)
> Cantonese speaking candidates are preferred
> Strong interpersonal skills (listening, negotiation and influencing)
> Market knowledge of Hong Kong will be highly preferred
