Position

The Internal Controller will be welcomed among the regional Finance team for Parfums Christian Dior Orient (PCDO). PCDO manages an area of 46 countries in the Middle-East, Europe, Africa and India, through subsidiaries & agents' structures, for its 7 Perfumes & Cosmetics (P&C) brands: Parfums Christian Dior, Make Up for Ever, Benefit, Givenchy, Kenzo, Loewe and Acqua Di Parma.

As Internal Controller for PCDO, you will report to the Finance Director and will be in charge of assessing risks and identifying control deficiencies via conducting reviews on brands operating activities, mostly regional distribution but also retail, as well as Support Services Centre (SSC) functions (ie finance, accounting, logistics, treasury)

 

The Internal Controller will work on:

 

Develop Internal Control

  • Develop Internal Control processes and mindset by implementing existing framework (HQ guidelines, existing SOP), developing customized controls and training on internal control processes
  • Remain accountable for the internal control and retail SOP compliance of P&C brands
  • Provide suggestions on the design of new procedures & process flows
  • Conduct due diligence and "audit missions" on the distribution agreements
  • Communicate effectively the results of the audits to local Management (Brands & SSC)
  • Support the stakeholders in the set-up and completion of action plans
  • Recommend, promote and implement best practices to improve efficiency and service levels within SSC, as well as brands own operations in a secured way:
    • Assist management team in identifying process improvement opportunities
    • Develop financial processes and procedures, implement reports and controls to ensure effective asset management
  • Conduct annual T&E review

 

Coordinate Internal Control action plans implementation and process improvement 

  • Follow up on the latest Internal Audit recommendations and the corresponding actions plans and provide a clear picture of the progresses and status
  • Coordinate yearly Internal Control self-assessment campaign
  • Support Central team's audits
  • Preparation and follow-up of Group, HQ audit or external
  • Internal control compliance: support the implementation of Group recommendations
    • BCP or crisis management organization
    • Code of conduct and conflict of interest
    • Delegation of authorities and signatures
    • LVMH ERICA Review and update

 

Retail Operations

  • Support brands to implement SOP for counters and boutiques
  • Follow-up concrete implementation (training, POS update...)
  • Launch regular counters and store review:
    • Review key controls over sales / inventory (Saleable products but also GWP/samples/ testers) / cash (if appropriate) with reference to SOP
    • Identify control weaknesses in store operations and proposes corrective action after considering operational needs and constraints
    • Report findings to management (CFO, brand GM)
  • Build regular control / exception reports:
    • KPI on inventory discrepancies / cash discrepancies
    • Reports to detect strange or irregular transactions
    • Boutique day end checklist for submission to back-office / sales administration
  • Validate new boutique or counter flows from an internal control perspective

Profile

 

  • Bachelor or master's degree in Accounting / Finance / Internal Audit;
  • Professional qualification is a plus (CPA, CFE, CIA);
  • Solid knowledge in the areas of internal control, process improvement as well as good understanding on information system;
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience at a multinational organization;
  • Experience in the Middle East;
  • Fluent in English is mandatory; French and Arabic can be an advantage;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills;
  • Ability to positively influence senior business leaders;
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented and well-organized, capable to handle multiple priorities and multi-tasking while respecting deadlines.
