Position

Louis Vuitton Americas is seeking an Accountant that will be responsible for month end accounting close for entities within the LATAM scope based in our New York City office. This role will be responsible for performing bank reconciliation, assisting with process changes to reduce issues, while preparing analysis and reconciling accounts related to all assigned areas monthly. The LATAM Accountant will additionally process journal entries and gather supporting documentation for entries, performing the analysis of said entries by understanding the subledger system and underlying business process. This role will also record fixed assets, analyze and reconcile GL Accounts and perform analysis and recording of all adjusting entries for proper inventory valuation in accordance with GAAP, including depreciation, losses and inter-company movement

The LATAM Accountant will partner with LVMH to complete tax submission packages for budget and actual entities in the score, additionally reporting to Paris HQ for month and year end close and financials. This role will also partner with Accounts Payable and Sales Audit teams to manage their activity, posting and timely account reconciliations, as well as with the Assistant Controller and other Accounting Managers as needed. The LATAM Accountant will additionally assist in the development of new accounting processes as necessary and work to improve existing processes and procedures for greater efficiency.


Profile

We are eager to speak to individuals with a minimum of two years related experience, preferably within the retail industry or within a multinational company. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience with complex bank and accounting reconciliations, working knowledge of Inventory, Fixed Assets Accounting and GAAP. Advanced qualitative, analytical and Microsoft Excel skills are pertinent to success, with strong attention to detail and deadlines. Additionally, fluency in Spanish is preferred.
