Position
Louis Vuitton is seeking a highly analytical and team oriented Logistics & Purchasing Manager, preferably with previous experience in a high-quality manufacturing environment to be a part of our amazing "atelier" in San Dimas, CA.
As a Logistics & Purchasing Manager, you will have an opportunity to work with a creative and dynamic team, ensuring the procurement of raw materials and components from domestic and international suppliers to meet our production plan. Profile
Management and Leadership Skills
- Team supervision: management and development
- Define and implement the best team organization to ensure success in the operations with planning
- Interface with LT members for Logistics and Purchasing
- Participate in different routines of the workshop (production meetings, level of stock follow-up, etc.)
- Being an active member of the Louis Vuitton Purchasing community
- Identify best practices from LV sister facilities (Europe/USA)
Logistics Monitoring
- Monitor and control all the inbound flows in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager
- Support Warehouse operations such as Destruction and Transportation Reception schedule.
- Support negotiations and Central organization with 3rd Party Logistics (3PLs)
- Define a complete invoice tracking management process for our 3PLs
- Define key metrics to measure 3PLs performance
- Implement 3PL transportation dashboards (e.g. lead time, cost, Estimated Time of Delivery and On Time Deliveries)
Purchasing and Supply Chain Coordination
- Track and report key functional metrics (shortages, inventory coverage, cost of the obsolescence)
- Lead total inventory levels to ensure well-balanced global stock coverage
- Redefine Supply Chain and Purchasing SOPs in partnership with main partners (production, planning, and finance)
- Collaborate strongly with Finance to monitor overstock situation + depreciation management
- Define inventory targets of raw material and components based on the production plan and supplier performance; and monitors the volume of orders placed in accordance with inventory targets
- Follow supplier performance with a Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) approach
Additional information
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Engineering
- 5-7 years relevant experience in Logistics, Purchasing or Supply Chain environment
- APICS Certification in Supply Chain is preferred
- Excellent understanding of ERP and MRP systems
- Strong management and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage time
- Excellent organization, analytical, and detail orientation skills are required
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including team building, meeting facilitation, and collaborative problem solving/ decision making
- French and/or Spanish language proficiency is a plus
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly in Excel)
- Ability to travel domestically/internationally, including commute between local sites
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, results oriented, and continually changing environment
