Louis Vuitton is seeking a temporary Merchandising Assistant that will support Merchandising Managers for Men's and Women's shoes based out of our New York City office for a minimum of six months. Key aspects of this role include generating and analyzing reports to recap business on both a weekly and monthly basis, updating the company Intranet to ensure accurate information is provided to stores and other administrative support for the team. This role also includes developing competitive analyses of the Shoe market with a comprehensive recap on pricing, trends and actions across all categories and maintaining sample closet organization, coordinating all shipments and tracking efforts.
The Merchandising Assistant will collaborate with various departments, including the Parts Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Digital and Visual Merchandising teams to support Shoe initiatives. The Merchandising Assistant will also partner with Merchandising Managers to outline strategic stock pushes & rebalances, pop up and trunk show assortments, and other ad hoc product needs. This role also serves as the point of contact for all Shoe special orders, remaining in regular communication with Paris partners.
We are eager to speak to individuals that possess a Bachelor's degree, and 1-2 years of merchandising experience (inclusive of internships). The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of product sensibility and knowledge of competitive landscape, strong analytical and critical thinking skills and strong organization skills with adherence to strict deadlines. As the Merchandising Assistant for Shoes, you will have advanced computer literacy skills, including advanced Excel skills (v-lookup, if/sum if formulas, pivot tables, etc.) and strong understanding of retail math. Lastly, the ability to take initiative and ownership of their work, having excellent verbal and written communication skills, and possessing a "can-do" attitude are essential to the role. Fluency in French a plus.
