Cape Mentelle Vineyards is proud to be one of Margaret River's 'founding five' wineries. Our winery has pioneered many of the region's renowned wine styles and today is a benchmark for the quality of the region's wines. There are more than 150 hectares under vine and the winery crushes about 1,500 tonnes of fruit from the estate vineyards and contract-grown fruit sourced from within the region.
This is a critical winery based role for a finance professional reporting directly to the Estate Director, Cape Mentelle Vineyards with a secondary report to the Regional Financial Controller, based in the ANZ Regional Office in Auckland, New Zealand. The position is part of the Cape Mentelle Senior Management team and the Estates and Wines ANZ Finance & Accounting community. The role directly manages a winery based Accounts Officer position.
The key responsibilities of the role are to model, manage and monitor all aspects of cost of goods, inventories, capital expenditure and operational expenses. Incorporated in the role will be the requirement to manage various financial and business reporting needs and obligations, together with asset management, scenario planning, budgeting and latest estimates across all of the Cape Mentelle business.
The position works closely with and supports winery stakeholders including vineyards, winery, production and cellar- door to ensure analysis, forecasts and performance are accurate and responded to in a timely, prudent and considered manner. The position has a primary responsibility for the maintenance of the grape supply and production plan in alignment with agreed market requirements. In addition, the position provides critical support to the business in regards to the utilization of group financial tools, processes, internal control and guidelines.

The ideal candidate: will have an accounting or commerce qualification together with at least 3 years relevant experience; will demonstrate advanced finance management and planning skills; will be analytically very strong; will be organized and able to effectively manage and influence multiple stakeholders and priorities at any one time; and will work well independently and as part of a tight team.
