Position

Under the supervision of the Technical Manager this position is responsible for the industrialization of the new products as well as managing the demands of modification on existing products in production. Works closely with the European facilities in co-development mode to share best practices during the industrialization of new products. The position also requires assisting production on all the product issues encountered on a regular basis and bringing to resolution. NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT >  Prepares the project planning to meet the "start of sales" date, performs a risk analysis and ensures follow-up Prepares the drawings of the products in CAD software to meet the designer's expectations (aesthetics and functionality), only if we are the development leader in the project, if not then reuse existing drawings from European facility >  Defines the dies needed for development, negotiates prices, and passes the corresponding orders >  Ensures the quality standards are met at each step of the development process (mock-up, prototype - Go Process, and first production run - Go Prod) >  Works cohesively as a team with Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement Team and Production for the estimation of the production time >  Collaborates with Production Supervisors and Mechanics to define and implement the required equipment and jigs for Production >  Prepares all the technical documentation needed in Production (cutting specifications, technical sheets, etc.) >  Defines the best way of producing: - Validates the materials with Purchasing Department. - Validates the process with Process Engineers, Production Supervisors, and Key Artisans - Sets up the machines with Process and Mechanics. - Ensures the process complies with all safety rules and ergonomics standards - Ensures the training of the associates during the industrialization of the line with the Production Supervisor MODIFICATION DEMANDS >  Applies modification demands as primary goal and ensures validation by Industrial Department in Paris or internally >  Defines the workflow of the modification with concerned departments >  Orders the necessary dies and jigs >  Performs testing to validate the new process >  Defines the new production time associated with the modification >  Follows Go Process and Go Prod, as necessary >  Communicates to the Production Supervisors frequent updates on the status of modification >  Trains associates to ensure safety and quality requirements >  Updates the technical specification sheets as necessary CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT >  Participates in cross functional improvement projects (organizations, workflows, change management, etc.) >  Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary based on business needs

Profile

>  Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent of relevant experience as a technician >  Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred >  Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, across all levels of the organization >  Detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills >  Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects varying in complexity >  Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team >  Must be action oriented, quality focused and creative to contribute to unique ideas >  Possesses sound judgment on the utilization of creative ideas >  Effectively copes with change and can decide and act under ambiguous situations >  Clearly and comfortably delegates routine and important tasks >  Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and continually changing environment >  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) >  Proficient in CAD drawing software and process interfaces, preferably knowledge of RCS (Lectra Software) >  Proficient in Lectra Software (Diamino, Modaris CAD, and Formaris) is a plus >  Familiar with ERP systems for tool ordering (JDE, SAP, or equivalent) >  Bilingual skills in English/Spanish (written and oral), French is a plus >  Project Management (PM) Certificate is a plus
