Position

The Senior Management Controller will work cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial information is provided to the business in a timely manner, empowering management to maintain strong control. This role will support the business planning process, including the strategic plan, budgeting and regular forecasting. Identify performance improvement and efficiency opportunities through clear analysis, identification and measurement of KPI's.

Management Reporting

  • Ensuring weekly and monthly reporting is produced in an accurate and timely manner
  • Liaising and challenging the team to ensure robust and accurate monthly reporting
  • Analysing, questioning, and assisting in validation of the management reports
  • Provide relevant, timely, accurate financial information to support the key responsibility areas in head office and in the regional retail network:
  • Analysis vs Budget, and forecast for each department
  • Monitoring of the head office operational budgets
  • Monitoring and strong analysis of margins and key drivers in delivering product category objectives
  • Analysis of capital expenditure against investment targets
  • Preparation of key commentary for shareholder reporting
  • Analysis and communication with regional finance teams to ensure reported numbers are accurate
  • Follow-up on overspends and under spends vs budget to ensure financial targets are reached
  • Maintain on a monthly basis a Capital Expenditure monitoring tool, ensuring that regular updates on investment projects are communicated to the business.
  • Prepare and publish IFRS management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) on a monthly basis:
  • Review of the monthly package for each brand including balance sheet reports and follow-up with accountants to adjust any issue
  • Preparation of Stock and Purchases reconciliations and monthly accruals
  • In charge of Syrus input for month end

Planning (budgets, Forecasts and Strategic plans

  • Contribute to the Global planning process to ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Group, including:
  • Modelling, Communication, Consolidation
  • Scenario analysis
  • Reporting to CEO and Board.
  • Financial business partner to the various areas of responsibility, to ensure consistency to the global strategies:
  • Understanding of all business drivers and focusing the business on delivering key objectives
  • Ensure that the Capital expenditure of the global business is kept within the budget framework:
  • For every planning cycle work with each area of the business to have a clear understanding of the risks
  • Clearly communicate all potential overspends to the management team.

Business Partnering

  • Partner with the Managing Director and each head of department to:
  • Track projects & improve levels of investment
  • Benchmark the various investment projects
  • Work with the Head office teams (budget holders, directors), as well as the regional markets to drive cost efficiencies
  • Ensure best business practise is being implemented around the various responsibility areas and internal processes are robust
  • Inventory and stock's check management (work closely with logistic teams to achieve that)

Internal Control

  • Work closely with Financial Controller to ensure internal control policies and procedures are in place
  • Work on finance processes and procedures to be in line with LVMH internal control expectations

Profile

Education & Experience:

  • Education: Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA) or Business school degree
  • Experience as a Managing Controller within the Fashion or Luxury sector is preferable
  • Experience: 8-10 years' experience preferably in a luxury fashion retail environment
  • Software: in-depth knowledge of Excel; experience with SAP (or another significant ERP)
  • Experience in a leadership role, driving and developing a successful, efficient team
  • Fluent written and spoken English, French is an advantage but not essential
