Job Title:  Store Manager: Saks Fifth Avenue - Greenwich, CT


Main Objective

Reporting to the VP of Retail, the Store Manager is responsible for overall management of the store, staff, merchandise, & customer service. as well as achieving net sales objectives, building highly motivated teams & developing Client Advisors.

Job Responsibilities

Business Development and Performance Management

  • Analyze business, propose & implement action plans to improve results, generate sales for each product category creating new clients and reactivating former ones
  • Represent Fendi Americas as an Ambassador of the brand
  • Be aware of luxury competition & local environment to be competitive & suggest business driving initiatives to upper management
  • Develop/deliver events & incentives to grow business
  • Work closely with merchandising team, ensuring appropriate stock & assortment levels are met
  • Make recommendations for store renovations, upgrades & expansion to increase sales and market share
  • Continuously motivate staff to meet assigned sales and performance based goals. Monitor performance against goals
  • Demonstrate leadership for staff by playing an active role on the selling floor & leading by example

 Client Management

  • Manage customer service quality to meet customer expectations by offering excellent customer service standards
  • Develop loyal Fendi customers, implement appropriate CRM tools, maintain customer database
  • Foster relationship with Stylists & Personal Shoppers; improve community outreach
  • Act as brand ambassador to strengthen/build relationships with VIP clientele/prospect customers
  • Improve Mystery Shop Results with action plans

 Administrative and operations management

  • Complete all administrative paperwork in a timely manner including creating schedules & ensuring appropriate store coverage
  • Control daily invoices & petty cash; effectively control costs and ensure efficient store operation 
  • Review & submit sales & operational reports to management in adherence to Fendi KPIs and policies
  • Ensure appropriate store assortment
  • Maintain relationships with members of corporate/regional/mall offices, repair facility & other stores
  • Ensure maintenance of cycle counts, inventory accuracy & shrink requirements
  • Full Profit & Loss responsibility for the store, with attention to controllable expenses, sales plan & inventory management

 Visual Merchandising

  • Maintain merchandising standards
  • Make the best out of the display & proximity storage
  • Work with local freelancers to achieve goals of proper window installation & display

 Staff Management

  • Create a supportive environment to develop & motivate staff through goal setting, performance monitoring, monthly meetings & storewide meetings; coach and deliver timely feedback
  • Ensure all Top Store initiatives are rolled out, updated & understood by team
  • Recruit associates with qualifications and skills meeting company/market standards
  • Enforce company policies while adhering to proper procedure regarding disciplinary action
  • Proactively assess performance & growth potential of individual staff to create a strong team benchmark and promote career paths


Required Skills, Knowledge and Attributes


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience a plus
  • Ability to speak a foreign languages a plus: Spanish or Portuguese preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years luxury goods retail experience
  • Minimum of 2 years specialty management in a luxury goods environment
  • Ability to use POS system and its inventory management functions
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in collaboration with human resources
  • Ability to motivate sales teams
  • Organizational skills
  • Prior experience in visual merchandising is a plus
  • Strong computer skills (MS office preferred)
