PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The local Merchandising team is responsible of the consistent and premium brand image of Guerlain throughout the brick and mortar distribution for the UK and Ireland, in line with the international guidelines.
Reporting into the UK Marketing Director, he/she is responsible of the hard and soft merchandising roll out. This requires managing an Architect/Retail designer and a VM Executive. He/she works closely with the EMEA Merchandising team, to guarantee the perfect application of the regional brand strategy.
Deliver best-in-class solutions across all Guerlain retail partners, ensuring the approach is commercially sound, consistent brand messaging and customer-centric to maximize ROI and commercial opportunities.
Merchandising roll out throughout the brick and mortar distribution
Working closely with retail partners and negotiating where necessary the store terms and conditions to ensure brand image is not compromised
Liaise closely with Marketing and Retail teams to ensure the needs of all areas are factored into the final implementation with a consistent brand message and customer journey
Utilising knowledge of local suppliers to maximise the ROI and image execution on all local development projects.
Ensure that Merchandising on counter remains a priority within the business, with education sessions where and when appropriate.
Oversee and ensure the effective and timely maintenance on all counters and non-consultant expressions in the market.
Project Manage new counter builds and renovations from conception to completion ensuring delivery on time and on budget.
Work with local suppliers ahead of installation to ensure accurate application of designs, technical specifications and quality of production. Follow-up with a post implementation review to clear all snagging and supplier feedback in a timely fashion.
Lead on CPA for Merchandising execution and communicate any changes of critical path to wider teams to ensure project is delivered on time and in full
Manage forecast soft merch POSM to be on POS for opening
Guarantee the FAST forecasting process for all animation elements
Lead on new product launches visual rollout plans ensuring national launch dates are never compromised
Be responsible for the delivery of detailed monthly Merchandising Guidelines sent out to the store network with clear instructions and focus for any launches or hero SKUs clearly highlighted
Project manage the conception, implementation and execution of all soft merchandising assets for new launches including promotional sites, retailer windows and planograms for all doors in a timely manner working closely with the Marketing Director to ensure consistent launch messaging across all elements
Working alongside the Marketing team to Forecast and Plan the activation calendar in a timely manner, ensuring to meet the brief of each retailer for each launch
Ensure strong activation input is shared as Visual Merchandiser lead to maximise activation opportunities in the market following the guidelines
Management and collaboration
Support the PR, Sales and Training team on all launches, conferences and trainings from a visual perspective. Enabling a strong and consistent conveyance of the brand.
Take a leadership to achieve excellent quality of execution
Manage the VM budget to ensure costs are always up to date & reflected in full on a monthly basis. Ultimately, deliver the budget for the year, including CAPEX, ensuring strong communication of risks & Opportunities
Full responsibility with the rest of the Merchandising team to forecast and allocate Merch elements across the trade & be take charge of any adjustments where necessary
Manage the Merchandising team to support and drive towards the overall objectives, ensuring a strong coaching culture, with open feedback and advice to the team.
Continue to develop and improve the infield Merchandising relationship and ensure changes are actioned quickly and efficiently
Take a leadership role in the reduction of costs but improvement where necessary of the quality and image execution, liaising closely with the international Purchasing department where appropriate.
Collaborate with the EMEA team and adhering to guidelines, whilst also ensuring to convey the specific elements and needs from the UK & Ireland customers and retailers.
Work hand-in-hand with the EMEA Merchandising team ensuring clear, structured communication throughout each project & regular status updates
Follow international guidelines and get approval from EMEA Merchandising team when necessary.
Answer internal survey and requests: EMEA region or HQ through the region.

Strong Team player & Experience of managing a team + EMEA relationship
Minimum 10 years in merchandising including 2 years in a management position
Strong understanding and eye for Brand Equity & Hard and Soft Merchandising experience gained in a similar environment.
