Posizione

Act as Finance Director AGS (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), providing strategic and operational leadership across financial planning, performance management, statutory and Group reporting, and finance governance for the AGS Shared Service Center scope. Ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial and operational information to enable fact-based decision-making, while proactively managing risk, internal controls and compliance (incl. GDPR). Act as a key strategic partner to the Managing Directors and leadership team, fostering sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Responsabilità del ruolo

  • Strategic Financial Leadership:Drive end-to-end financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management for AGS. Challenge the business to achieve sustainable growth and productivity.
  • Financial Reporting & Control:Ensure accurate and timely monthly/quarterly closing, statutory accounting, and Group reporting. Guarantee data quality and adherence to corporate standards.
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance: Is accountable for and strengthens the finance governance framework, internal control environment, and compliance agenda (including tax, risk management, and GDPR). Maintains a strong dotted line relationship with the dedicated Internal Controller for the entity. Supports the local Internal Controller in managing internal/external audit interactions and oversees non-commercial legal matters, including external counsel engagement and risk assessment.
  • Business Partnering & Strategic Insight:Act as a trusted finance business partner to leadership, supporting strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and transformation projects. Identify risks, opportunities, and drive cost discipline and value creation through clear executive-level insights.
  • Cash & Working Capital Management:Steer cash flow and working capital, supporting treasury relationships and identifying levers for improved liquidity and operational efficiency.
  • Data & Digital Transformation:Advance BI usage, data-driven decision-making, and master data governance. Lead cross-functional finance tool projects and coordinate IT operations to ensure effective governance of finance-related IT roadmaps and continuous process improvement.
  • Purchasing Oversight:Provide functional oversight of indirect purchasing, strengthening spend governance, controls, and identifying savings opportunities.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build, inspire, and develop the Finance & Compliance leadership team, focusing on talent acquisition, coaching, and rigorous performance management.

Profilo

  • Matrix leadership & governance:Proven ability to lead through influence (dotted-line teams), set decision rights, run steering committees, and drive delivery across Finance/IT/Compliance.
  • Finance systems ownership:Hands-on experience owning/steering an ERP and finance reporting stack (e.g., SAP + BW/Power BI or similar), incl. roadmap prioritization and change management.
  • Appetite for Internal control :Demonstrate a genuine interest and appetite for internal control and risk management, particularly in understanding, designing, testing, and remediating an internal control framework, including access controls and segregation of duties.
  • Data governance / master data:Experience establishing master data ownership, controls, and measurable data quality KPIs (customer/vendor/material/pricing conditions).
  • Transformation & SSC exposure:Track record in shared services, process standardization/automation, and productivity delivery.
  • Risk & compliance mindset: Practical experience with GDPR-related controls in finance processes and working with Ethics & Compliance.
  • Executive communication:Evidence of presenting to MD/CFO level and translating complex financial/data topics into clear decisions.
  • People leadership:Experience in managing managers / leading a leadership team as well as building succession and talent pipelines.
  • Education: Master’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related discipline; professional accounting/controlling qualification is a plus.
  • Languages: Fluent English (written and spoken) required; German is a strong advantage.
  • Professional experience: From 8+ to 12+ years progressive finance experience in an international environment, including leadership exposure. Strong knowledge of controlling/FP&A, accounting & close, Group reporting and cross-functional business partnering; experience with shared services is a plus.
  • Technical & management skills: Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills; structured and methodological approach; strong stakeholder management and executive communication; proven change leadership and project/program management; ability to connect finance, systems and process design in a control-conscious environment.
