As the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be part of the Global Quality Assurance (GQA) organization and work at European level. As a key partner of the European Quality Assurance Team, you will contribute to evaluate, monitor, and collaborate with Europeans suppliers to enhance their quality processes and resolve any quality-related issues. You will actively participate in improving the compliance best practices with industry standards, and reliability of our products by defining, implementing, and driving a quality approach.

The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring product quality by collaborating with suppliers, coordinating quality activities, and driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process and product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Supplier Evaluation 

  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers according to the company's quality standards
  • Regularly audit suppliers to ensure ongoing compliance with quality requirements.
  • Lead the PQF (Products Quality Forms) actions associate to the European Suppliers
  • Analyze production processes and propose improvements to optimize product quality.
  • Conduct product reviews to collect and analyze data to identify root cause and corrective actions

Monitoring and Problem Solving

  • Plays a proactive role in managing and resolving any quality issues
  • Working closely with suppliers to implement effective corrections and promoting continuous improvements. This responsibility involves timely identification of any defects or quality discrepancies, driving an in-depth analysis of their causes and problem-solving activities using appropriate Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Prepare and review supplier quality metrics in Europe to drive improvement. 
  • Collaborate closely with quality controllers to identify, document, and analyze quality defects at different stage flow of the life cycle
  • Conduct product reviews to collect and analyze data to identify root cause and corrective actions.  
  • Monitor the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential malfunctions as early as possible

Collaboration and continuous Improvement

  • Cultivate and maintain open and collaborative communication with suppliers, enabling mutual understanding of needs and expectations.
  • Participate in product development projects to integrate quality standards from the design phase.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement among suppliers and within the company.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field is typically required.
  • Experience in the jewelry Industry, a solid understanding of engineering principles and jewelry manufacturing practices to accurately evaluate supplier processes 
  • Problem Solving, ability to diagnose and resolve quality issues quickly and efficiently, engaging stakeholders in finding and implementing practical solutions. Practical experience in Lean Manufacturing tools (FMEA, 8D, Six sigma, QRQC) 
  • Analytical Skills, ability to analyze statistical data and test results to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement.
  • Solid communication skills, ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with suppliers and within the organization, facilitating collaborative problem solving.
  • Customer Focus and commitment, to meet customer needs through the delivery of high-quality products or services.
  • Ability to be flexible, manage changing priorities and work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Autonomous and self-starter
  • Extensive travel through the week
  • Fluency in English and French (oral and written), Fluency in Italian is a plus (oral and written)
  • IT Skills : Office Pack ; PowerBi, JDE is a plus
