The Visual Merchandising Specialist will be responsible for creating and implementing visual merchandising strategies to enhance the customer experience and drive sales across various retail formats in Japan. This role involves designing attractive displays, ensuring brand consistency, and collaborating with various teams to optimize product presentation and store aesthetics. The specialist will follow guidelines from the central headquarters and coordinate with the regional APAC team for new launches and visual merchandising supplies.

Les missions

Visual Merchandising Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and execute visual merchandising plans that align with brand guidelines and marketing strategies.
  • Design and install in-store displays, and promotional setups to attract customers and drive sales.

Store Support and Coordination

  • Collaborate with store managers to implement merchandising plans and ensure optimal product placement.
  • Provide training and support to store staff on visual merchandising techniques and standards.
  • Conduct regular store visits to assess and enhance visual merchandising efforts.

Inventory and Display Management

  • Order visual merchandising supplies for new launches from the central headquarters and regional APAC team.
  • Work with the inventory and logistics team to manage stock levels and ensure timely delivery of display materials.
  • Monitor and maintain the condition of displays, fixtures, and signage, ensuring they are clean, organized, and visually appealing.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for the procurement of display materials and fixtures.

Market Analysis and Trend Monitoring

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to inform visual merchandising strategies.
  • Conduct market research and analyze sales data to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in visual merchandising.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to the marketing and sales teams based on market insights and store performance.

Qualifications and Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in visual merchandising, preferably in the cosmetics or retail industry.

Skills:

  • Strong creative and design skills with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Languages: Fluent in Japanese; proficiency in English is an advantage.

Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of retail and consumer behavior.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
