Stuart Vevers named Creative Director of Loewe

LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world’s leading luxury products group, today announced that Stuart Vevers has been appointed Creative Director of Loewe, the famous Spanish leather goods and accessories house. Stuart Vevers will work exclusively for Loewe starting January 2008, and will be based in Madrid where the brand has its studio and workshops.

Stuart creative talent and wealth of experience are perfectly suited to enhance the current development of Loewe, a house whose legitimacy as luxury accessories specialist is rooted in over 160 years of leather goods craftmanship.

Since he graduated from the University of Westminster, Stuart collaborated successively with Bottega Veneta and Givenchy (part of the LVMH Group). In 2002 he joined Louis Vuitton to take responsibility for the runway bags under the direction of Marc Jacobs. Two and a half years ago he became Design Director for Mulberry. He was named Fashion Accessories Designer of the Year by the British Fashion Council in 2006.

Loewe thanks José Enriqué Ona Selfa for the quality of his work during the six years he has dedicated to the brand. José Enriqué will show his last collection for Loewe in Paris in October 2007.
