Last week, the contemporary art world turned its attention to Paris. A look back at the exhibitions, collaborations and artistic initiatives presented by the LVMH Maisons that marked these few days.

During Art Basel Paris, Cosima von Bonin’s sculptures took over the Petit Palais. Originally created for the Loewe Fall-Winter 2026 show at the invitation of Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, they found a new playground at the heart of the Parisian museum.

A leather octopus, a mohair whale and a velvet Saint Bernard: last week, a surprising menagerie took up residence at the Petit Palais. Organized by the Gaga, Neu and Petzel galleries as part of Art Basel Paris’s public program, the Dollys & Beaux installation brought together German artist Cosima von Bonin’s oversized textile sculptures, which playfully challenge the conventions of contemporary art.

The creatures first appeared in March during the Loewe Fall-Winter 2026 show conceived by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. They also inspired several pieces from the collection, including a reinterpretation of the Amazona 180 bag.

At the Petit Palais, the animals appeared alongside the museum’s historic sculptures, adorned with silk scarves and tartan. Following the Loewe runway, the Petit Palais offered the works a new context at the intersection of art and fashion.
