Kenzo’s historic address at 18 rue Vivienne served as the setting for the new womenswear collection by Nigo, presented to a soundtrack featuring a mix of 90s hip hop, punk and disco.

The stately 17th century mansion provided a fun and eclectic backdrop, mirroring a joyful collection blending audacity and colorful whimsy.

Nigo’s personal wardrobe inspired the season’s tailoring, infused with a certain casual flair. Double-breasted tuxedo blazers are joined by silk bomber jackets and felted duffle hoodies. Japanese denim jeans showed pink stitching and ballooning diaphanous pants revealed legs. The lingerie-like delicacy features floral prints lifted from archival KENZO swimsuits. Feminine freshness continues in accessories, including bags with shirred handles and ribbon bow detailing.

Motifs include two mischievous rabbits, “Lucky Me” in pink and “Lucky You” in pastel blue, bringing a playful touch to the runway. Inspired by a 1979 Kenzo Takada sketch, the whimsical characters came to life in a rabbit adorned vest, rabbit-ear hoodies and sling-back bunny slippers. Meticulous details informed the entire collection. Crystal pavé detailing on belt buckles are a nod to streetwear, buttons are hand-carved in tonal mother of pearl, and the linings of tailored jackets meet the exacting specifications of Savile Row.  Nothing was left to chance behind the apparent whimsy, including a touching tribute to the KENZO atelier team with a cotton-linen parka embroidered with rainbow autographs of team members.
